"Family Dinner" has always been more than a meal—it’s a tradition from of cooking for everyone you love, making sure there’s a hot meal, a warm hug, and a place to feel like home. When Eric and I started dating, he embraced this tradition with me, and it quickly became ours together.
We’d love for you to join us the night before our wedding for a relaxed evening of food, laughter, and connection. We’re inviting all of our wedding guests to our Family Dinner.
The reservation is at 6 PM at Rosengarten, just a short train ride from Thun to Bern, Switzerland’s charming capital.
Bern is full of history and character, with its cobblestone streets, red-roofed buildings, and the iconic Zytglogge Clock Tower. Its lively markets, cafes, and riverside views make it a delightful city to explore—perfect for a day trip before our dinner reservation.

One of Bern’s most scenic vantage points. Perched above the Old Town, this park was once a vineyard and later transformed into a rose garden in the early 20th century.
From the Rosengarten terrace, the view of Bern is unmatched. You’ll see the rooftops of the Old Town clustered within the curve of the Aare River, the spire of the Bern Minster rising above, and the distant silhouette of the Alps on a clear day. As the sun sets, the sandstone buildings glow golden, and the city takes on a magical warmth.
The Rosengarten also features a restaurant where we will gather for dinner. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and panoramic views, it is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors — a true Bernese experience.

Enjoying fondue in Bern carries a sense of heritage and hospitality. The dish, created from a blend of fine Swiss cheeses, wine, and subtle aromatics, has its origins in the Alpine villages where it was first shared during long winters. Today, it remains a symbol of gathering, conversation, and comfort.
At Rosengarten, this tradition is elevated by the setting. Guests will share in the ritual of dipping fresh bread into the smooth, flavorful cheese while overlooking the rooftops of Bern and the distant peaks of the Alps. It is less a formal meal than an experience — one that reflects the warmth, conviviality, and timeless spirit of Switzerland.
